Instead of building an entire café concept from scratch, you can open an independently owned La Costa Café Borikén location with access to our brand, café system, menu concepts, recipes, training, equipment guidance, and continued support.

Our opportunities are designed to help you get started with the essentials while allowing you to select the package that best fits your location, budget, and vision.

Choose the Right Package for Your Café

Every location is different. Some owners may already have a commercial space with equipment and signage. Others may want La Costa to help provide nearly everything needed to prepare for opening day. For that reason, we offer different startup options.

Essential Café Package |Starting at $25,000

Our Essential Café Package is designed to provide the primary equipment, systems, and support needed to begin building your La Costa Café Borikén location.

Equipment Included

The package may include:

• Commercial espresso machine

• Commercial coffee grinder

• Barista workstation

• Commercial sandwich press

• Commercial electric griddle

• Essential café smallwares and preparation tools

Smallwares may include items such as milk pitchers, espresso tools, food preparation utensils, cutting boards, storage containers, thermometers, tongs, spatulas, and other basic operational items.

Exact equipment models may vary depending on availability, location requirements, and final package specifications.

Your package also includes access to the La Costa Café Borikén operating concept, including:

For owners who want additional help preparing for opening day, the Café Launch Package can include everything in the Essential Café Package plus an initial supply of café disposables and operational inventory.

• Branded or approved hot coffee cups

• Hot cup lids

• Coffee sleeves

• Clear cold beverage cups

• Cold cup lids

• Straws

• Napkins

• Takeout bags

• Sandwich wrapping and food liners

• Takeout containers

• Gloves

• Basic cleaning and sanitation supplies

• Other approved café disposables

Depending on the selected package, we may also assist with an agreed amount of initial coffee, beverage, pastry, or food inventory.

This option is designed for owners who want to get closer to opening day without having to source every small operational item individually.

Pricing varies based on location size, inventory requirements, equipment selections, and shipping.

Turnkey Café Package

For entrepreneurs who want the most complete startup experience, our Turnkey Café Package provides a more comprehensive approach to launching a La Costa Café Borikén location.

This package may include everything available in the Essential and Café Launch Packages, along with additional branding and opening support.

• Exterior La Costa Café Borikén signage

• Interior branded signage

• Menu boards

• Window graphics

• Wall graphics and branded décor

• Printed menus

• Promotional materials

• Opening-day marketing materials

• Staff aprons or selected branded apparel

Turnkey packages are individually quoted.

What Is Not Included?

Every commercial property is different, so certain expenses cannot realistically be included in one standard startup price.

Unless specifically included in your final written package, the location owner is generally responsible for expenses such as:

• Lease payments

• Security deposits

• Construction

• Remodeling

• Plumbing

• Electrical work

• HVAC modifications

• Commercial hood systems if required

• Grease traps if required

• Building permits

• Business licenses

• Health department requirements

• Insurance

• Utilities

• Employee payroll

• Local taxes

• POS hardware or service fees

• Additional equipment not included in the selected package

• Additional furniture

• Additional signage

• Freight or installation costs outside the agreed package

Before moving forward, we work with prospective operators to understand the space and determine what may be required.

Independently Owned and Operated

Each participating La Costa Café Borikén location is independently owned and operated.

Opening a La Costa Café Borikén location does not make the operator a member, shareholder, employee, or owner of the existing La Costa Café Borikén company.

The local owner is responsible for establishing and operating their own business entity, employees, payroll, insurance, local licenses, permits, banking, taxes, and day-to-day operations.

La Costa Café Borikén provides access to its brand, operating concept, approved systems, training, resources, and support according to the terms of the final agreement.

Ongoing Brand & Support Fee

Participating locations pay an ongoing fee equal to: 5% of Gross Sales

This ongoing fee supports continued access to the La Costa Café Borikén brand and operating system.

It may also include continued assistance with:

• Brand standards

• Menu guidance

• Recipes and approved products

• Operational questions

• Marketing direction

• Promotional campaigns

• Vendor guidance

• New product recommendations

• Café systems

• Ongoing owner support

The local owner keeps control of their independently owned business while operating under the La Costa Café Borikén system and maintaining required brand standards.

2. Initial Conversation

We discuss your goals, market, available space, budget, and which package may work best for you.

3. Location Review

If you already have a potential café location, we review the basic requirements and discuss equipment, layout, utilities, and operating needs.

4. Select Your Package

Choose the startup package and additional services that make the most sense for your café.

5. Agreements & Planning

Required agreements and documentation are completed before payments, equipment purchases, training, or use of the La Costa Café Borikén brand.

6. Setup & Training

We begin equipment coordination, café planning, menu preparation, training, branding, systems, and opening preparation.

7. Opening Day 🇵🇷

Once your location is properly prepared, licensed, equipped, trained, and approved, you are ready to introduce La Costa Café Borikén to your community.
